The ideal place is where the wind blows calm and steady all the time. But in reality such a place is not found because near the ground the wind remains turbulent and fast due to which the direction and velocity changes. Hence the wind does not flow uniformly. This is shown by the wind shape.
Location height
As the height from the sea level increases, the density of air also increases due to which the velocity of the wind increases and with the increase in the velocity of wind, more power is obtained.

The location of a wind machine is suitable where both ends of the hill are equal and the height is increasing simultaneously. The wind flows faster between the hills, which will give more power.

For selection of the location, the distance from railway and highway should also be considered so that heavy machines, structures, rotors, blades etc. can be transported to the location easily.
