Define isolator and describe horizontal break type isolator with diagram?

Friends, today in this article  I am going to give you information about isolators and horizontal break type isolators  in a very good way. So let’s start.

Isolator

Following are the different types of isolators-

(a) Double Break Type Isolator

(b) Single Break Type Isolator

(c) Pantograph Type Isolator

(d) Bus Side Isolator

(e) Line Side Isolator

(f) Transfer Bus Side Isolator

(g) Vertical Break Type Isolator

(h) Horizontal Break Type Isolator

Horizontal break type isolators

It is a double break isolator. It has three insulators per pole, out of which two insulators are installed at both ends, while one insulator is installed in the middle of both as a rotating type insulator. The insulator installed in the middle position can be rotated 90° on the vertical axis. The horizontal break type isolator is shown in the figure below.

It is clear from the figure that fixed contacts are displayed at the ends of the insulators. A contact rod is attached to the insulator placed in the mean position. When the circuit has to be brought to the open position, this rotating contact rod is rotated 90° in the horizontal direction. Thus, double break is provided by horizontal change of the contact rod.

What did you learn today :-

Now you must have known and   got the answer to all these questions about isolator and horizontal break type isolator  very well.
